What I collect and how I use it

Signal & Shelf is a founder-led practice run by TJ Thelen. This page explains what information this website collects, how it is used, and the choices you have.

Information you send me. When you use the "Start a Conversation" form or email info@signalandshelf.com, I receive what you share: your name, email address, phone number if you choose to add it, your answers about your expertise, audience, and idea, any link you include, and anything else you write.

Basic site data. This website is hosted on Wix. Wix and its service providers automatically collect standard technical information, such as browser type, device, pages visited, and approximate location, and use cookies to run and secure the site and to provide visitor statistics.

How I use it. I use your information to read your note and reply, usually within one business day; to set up and prepare for a conversation if we both decide to continue; to keep a record of our correspondence; and to keep the site working, secure, and free of spam.

Submitting the form does not sign you up for marketing emails. I will not add you to a mailing list without asking first.
Who else handles it
I do not sell or rent your information. It is handled by the services that run this business: Wix hosts the website and stores form submissions, Google Workspace handles email, and Google reCAPTCHA helps block spam on the form. Each of these providers processes data under its own privacy policy. I may also disclose information if required by law.

How long I keep it. I keep form submissions and emails for as long as they are useful for our conversation or any work we do together, then delete them. You can ask me to delete them sooner.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct, or delete the information you have sent me by emailing info@signalandshelf.com. You can also block or clear cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the site may not work as expected.

Children. This site is meant for adults. I do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

Changes. If this policy changes, I will update this page and the date at the top.
